Larry with a Blue Stripe

For a long time I was really into blue stripes, blue stars and fezzes. I still am, but maybe not quite as much as I used to be.

In the height of that period, I did this painting of Larry Baumiller, who graciously agreed to pose, not entirely sure what I was up to.
It's done in oils on linen, and is about half life-sized, more or less.

My wife thought it was kind of disturbing and made me keep it out in the studio, so I eventually gave it to her sister's husband, who rather fancied it.
