It's oil on linen, and pretty large at 5 feet across by 4 feet high.
It's in the same series as this one and this one, although done in a limited pallete, especially compared to this one.
I've been creating these elaborate characters and scenes in Maya (a 3D design tool that I use on the side for making computer games). Once I've built out a world, then I render studies and maquettes to work out the design. The process is evocative of making a movie or game, but bent towards painting instead.
It's a combination of a 500 year old art form and perhaps the most current one. A strange hybrid, but a promising one.
