Still life with Lemons, water and oil

Here's another little still-life painting. It's 8" by 16", and done in oils on linen covered panel, like this study.

It started out as a fast, alla prima, wet into wet study, like the painting a day folks do.

But it was a bit too large to complete in one sitting, and I got seduced by the specifics of the different surfaces and the light moving through the water and oil. So it wound up taking three sessions, using layered scumbles and glazes.

It was done at night, under incandescent light. The color and highlights look quite different than in this one for example, that was done under natural light.
