Portrait study, Alexandria

Here's a little (8"x10") study of my daughter Alexandria, done in oils on linen covered panel.

Like most 7 year olds, She's a terrible model, who starts complaining about having to hold still about three minutes into the painting. So I had to bribe her, and even then, after 15 minutes more or less, she was having no more of it.

So here you have a 15 minute sketch, just roughly marking out the painting. It's still at that thin washy stage where major features are being noted and scuffed in, in anticipation of building up some paint. But even though it's not really finished, It came out OK.
