Mt. Tam Clouds painting, Work-in-progress take 2

Here's an update of my current painting after about 10 more hours of work, with a convenient 6 year old for scale! I'm leaning towards titling it "Mt. Tamalpais Spring" or "Spring on Mt. Tamalpais". Something to address the clearing spring storm filling the sky.

At this stage, the painting's just starting to take shape. It's bones are being laid down, but everything's still really rough and provisional.

The colors haven't yet been resolved. But the large scale forms, the masses of light and dark are solidifying. There's still tons of work to do at this stage, before moving on to color, surface and detail, but it's coming along.

Here's the previous stage, from a week ago or so, when I'd just begun scuffing in the underpainting.
