Night and Day still lifes

These are a pair of still life paintings from '98 which I sold to Philippe Tarbouriech, a move that I've been kicking myself about ever since. They're some of my favorites, and now they're on the other side of the world.

And what's worse, I don't have good reproductions of them, these were taken with a bad digital camera.

The point of the paintings was in observing the same subject under dramatically different lighting conditions, and capturing how the local color changed from night to day and from local incandescent light to natural light streaming in from outside.
