Landscape drawing of Lake in Marin

Now that I've got a couple little kids, it's a lot harder to hop into the car and head out for an impromptu day of landscape painting & drawing.

A lot harder.

But every now and then I still manage.
This drawing, cropped from an 18" by 24" page, was done while exploring for good spots over in Marin county with my friend Christian, an accomplished pastelist.
Christian worked with me on Spore, on various versions of SimCity and on the Sims2. Now he has two, even younger kids of his own.

So we came to this lake, thought it had potential, and pulled over by the side of the road. Christian did a pastel and I did the conté drawing below. Good times.
