Painting from the nude model

This is a painting of a model named Coba. It was done a while ago at my friend Richard Houston's studio in Oakland. It's good to paint alongside other serious, committed artists. It encourages you to improve your game.

Richard had the coolest studio, this big industrial loft space with huge windows and high ceilings. He's since moved down to LA (where he has an almost identical studio!), and I miss him.

It's 16" x 20", and done in oils on stretched linen. As I recall it was done in three sessions of two hours each. Fairly fast, but enough time to bring it to resolution.
