SimCity 3000 poster: UFO attack

Back in the late 90's I art directed SimCity 3000. After it was all done, I rendered out this poster (for Wired magazine? I forget...) using the actual game source art. We put so much detail into those buildings, that they held up really well even at print resolutions.

You might recognize the Battersea power station back there from the Pink Floyd album Animals. It's such a beautiful building. Some of the other buildings were inspired by local San Francisco architecture, see if you can spot the influences...

UFO's are a SimCity tradition. In the print version of this poster you can see that the aliens inside are really teapots. Bright green glowing teapots.
And there are teapot gargoyles on a lot of the buildings too. Once they were rendered in-game, they'd only be a few pixels anyway, and it made me smile.
