Plums on the scanner

Normally I'm not that interested in photography, but you get such beautiful and interesting results just by arranging stuff upon on a scanner.
I retrieved these plums from the tree outside and played with letting in background light to get colored depth and rim lighting.

It might just be some puritan impulse, but the fact that it's so easy to get something so beautiful cheapens them. It doesn't feel like there's sufficient struggle or labor involved. And no creation of meaning, just mute beauty.
Still, visually anyway, they were delicious.
