Alexis America's botanical paintings

My mom, Alexis America, is a well known water-colorist in Maui. Growing up, Mom was a huge artistic influence on me. I was raised with the collected Little Nemo in Slumberland, with N.C. Wyeth and Maxfield Parrish books, with art supplies all around, and a working studio I could hang out in.

Her Botanicals in particular are outstanding. I'm especially fond of her water lilly series.

Oh, also Lines and Colors did a lovely post on her work last year.
